Well last night we recieved our first blanket of the white stuff. I woke up around 2am like a kid before Christmas, turned on the outside lights, ran to the window and flew it open. I giggled like a school girl as the white flakes fluttered down to the ground. I still get so excited at the first sight of snow. LOVE IT!!!
My family and friends always remind me that it is because I don't have to go out into it and try to drive in it. This is very true for sure.
However, for me it is the "magic" of it all. The wonderment of how so many kazillion of little frozen drops of lace can fall so gracefully and pile into a soft blanket on the ground. The silence of that virgon snow covering everything making it all feel so peaceful. It is such a drastic contast to the world we all find ourselves living in today with all the violence and attrocities that our minds can bearly comprehend. The senslessness of all the tradgedies that we witness in the daily news broadcasts and the inconcievable amount of evil expressed not only around the world but also in our own back yards. so, For a few moments, in the stillness we can dream of a peaceful world. A world of no hunger, no pain nor suffering. The world that I believe, God intended for us to ALL enjoy.
So I truly charish these few moments of pure joy and contentment, if only for a little while.
Alas, we do not get much snow here. Even at our 1700 ft elevation, we do not get a lot of snow. A few years ago we had about 8 inches, but that was unusual. However, even the little bit we get does my soul a lot of good... Sort of a healing if you will.
Here is wishing you all a safe and healthy new year filled with your loving friends and family.
Now off to drink some sugar free hot chocolate... yummmmmm not! hahahahaha
giggling as I truddle off to the kitchen. toodles ....
